The 17hundred90
Hidden within the city's Spanish moss draped majestic oaks and other natural treasure stands the 17Hundred90, Savannah's oldest Inn. Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Savannah, the Inn with its restaurant and lounge is housed in what were originally two homes built in the 1790’s. The 14 splendidly appointed guest rooms are handsomely furnished with Scalamandre fabric of old Savannah design and original antiques. It is within easy walking distance (three short blocks) from Savannah’s renowned Factors Walk and River Street, perhaps the south’s finest restoration of an antebellum river port.
The Restaurant has been a gourmet tradition in Savannah for over a century, acclaimed as "the most elegant restaurant in Savannah" by Gourmet Magazine. It offers a combination of Southern American and Continental dishes (with specialties of fresh local seafood, veal, lamb and steaks). The brick walls and stone floors are original as well as the two great stone fireplaces which were part of the original structure.
The lounge is a favorite spot for “financers, business people and professionals.” Gourmet Diner’s Club, we’re proud to say, has given the restaurant their “Silver Spoon” award for the past eight years.
In other words, the 17hundred90 Inn Restaurant and Lounge is a unique combination that merits your attention. History will surround you in your room, at your dining table and just outside your door. And when your stay with us is at an end, your vivid memories of Savannah will always be highlighted by 17hundred90.
